For Small-Business VoIP, Ease of Use Is Paramount

Small businesses looking to upgrade their telecom situation are sometimes apprehensive. Solutions are often complex and typically require some degree of technical expertise to deploy. If you don’t already have it in house—and most with fewer than 20 employees do not—that expertise is going to cost you.

On Wednesday, our neighbors to the north, Jazinga, formerly released their new VoIP Phone System for the SOHO market. Now, I know you are probably thinking,

“Garrett, there are dozens of VoIP Phone Systems out there. What’s so exciting about another one coming to market?”

Well, I have had the privilege of using the Jazinga box in my home for the last few weeks and I can say that the Jazinga MGA120 is no “me-too” phone system.

Jazinga: SoHo voice done right

We’ve a bit of a fetish for little broadband boxes that sit around your home and office under desks and TVs. Jazinga Might Have The IP PBX Right

I got a piece of hardware from UPS on Monday from a company called Jazinga. It’s a Wifi-enabled router with a PBX that promises to make it possible to have a PBX up and running without an IT staff. In it’s pre-release form, it’s not quite like that, but with some bug fixes (and updated documentation), this could be really big.

Head-to-head: Jazinga vs. Asterisk Appliance Jazinga: Putting the AUTO in Auto-provisioning

Jazinga is a Canadian VoIP software startup that offers a small business telephone solution, among other VoIP technology procurements. The solution works with SIP phones and consists of a shiny grey appliance that certainly conjures thoughts of its contemporary, the Asterisk Appliance, another VoIP telephone system from Digium. When I first looked at the Asterisk Appliance, I was mostly impressed–there were a few key things missing, though, and if Jazinga can seize on Digium’s shortcomings with their product, I’ll give ‘em a high-five.
