Installation Instructions

  • Install VirtualBox for Mac OS X / Windows / Linux
    • https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
  • Run VirtualBox and import the Jazinga virtual machine image that you have downloaded (jazinga-wingu-client.ova).
    • File > Import Appliance > Choose path to jazinga-wingu-client.ova
    • Check Reinitialize the MAC address of all network cards
  • Change networking settings to match your environment
    • Settings > Network > Adapter 1
    • Enable Network Adapter: Attached to Bridge Adapter
    • Name: select correct network interface used to access the Internet
      • enX: Ethernet (on MAC OS X)
      • Gigabit Ethernet (on Windows)
      • ethX (on Linux)
  • Start the client virtual machine by double clicking on the Jazinga image in the list.
  • Configure your Jazinga system in a web browser by navigating to cloud.jazinga.com/start

Remotely Access The Client Virtual Machine

  • On MAC OS X
    • Start a terminal (Applications > Utilities >Terminal)
    • Type: ssh root@jazinga.local with password wingu
  • On Windows
    • Install PuTTY: http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe
    • Start PuTTY and connect to IP address of Jazinga image with login root and password wingu
  • On Linux
    • Start a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
    • Type: ssh root@jazinga.local with password wingu

The generic root password ‘wingu’ is widely known by all Jazinga customers. For security reasons, once logged into the client console, immediately change it to a more secure password. To do so type: passwd and enter the new password, then retype the new password

Auto-start the Client Virtual Machine at System Startup

You will want to be sure that your phone system restarts automatically if the system you are installing it on is restarted for any reason. To cause the Jazinga image to automatically restart when the host computer is rebooted, follow the instrructions below, replacing {your username} with the user account on the host computer.

  • On Mac OS X
    • Start a terminal (Applications > Utilities >Terminal)
    • Type: sudo nano /Library/LaunchDaemons/wingu.client.headlessvm.plist
    • Copy and paste the text below into the text editor:

    • Press: control X to exit nano and confirm that you would like to save your changes
    • Type: sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/wingu.client.headlessvm.plist 
  • On Windows
    • Launch the Notepad application and copy and past the text below into Notepad

“C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxHeadless.exe” -s jazinga-wingu-client

    • Save the file as a .bat file in C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup 
  • On Linux
    • Start a terminal (Applications > Utilities >Terminal)
    • Type: sudo nano /etc/rc.local
    • Add the text below into this file in the text editor:

su {your username} -c “VBoxHeadless -s jazinga-wingu-client”

    • Press: control X to exit nano and confirm that you would like to save your changes
